Shelly Deutmeyer, PTA – Physical Therapist Assistant

My name is Shelly Deutmeyer and I’m a Physical Therapist Assistant here at our Dyersville location. I graduated from Iowa State University in 1996 with a Bachelors in Exercise and Sport Science with an emphasis in K-12 Physical Education.  I then went on to get my AA degree from Kirkwood Community College in 2001 to attain my Physical Therapist Assistant license. Over the years, I’ve worked primarily in out-patient settings in the Eastern Iowa area at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, Rockwell Rec Center PT in Cedar Rapids, Health Enterprises in Cedar Rapids and now have been with Physical Therapy Solutions since 2011.

Over the years I have attained certifications in McKenzie A and B, Astym, and LSVT. I’m also providing some Injury Prevention services at Modernfold here in Dyersville. When not busy seeing patients, I also do chart audits for our organization, editor of our quarterly newsletters and write articles for our local newspapers.

On a personal note, my husband Troy and I farm just northeast of Dyersville and operate a corn, soybean and hog operation.  We have one son, Shawn, and also a couple of black labs at home. When free time allows, I love walking, golfing, biking, gardening, boating, and spending time with friends and family.
